This is how we do it here

I was on my boat, having just tied up in a quiet harbor, with an empty space next to me. I was waiting to see who would arrive so I could enjoy my coffee without rush. When another boat appeared, I went over to help. I held the ropes and gave him two simple tips. With a little help, he managed to tie up safely without any damage. I welcomed him with a smile and then returned to my boat.

That evening, when I came back, he came over smiling, holding a bottle of wine. He said he would have struggled a lot without my help.

“This is how we do it here.” i said. These small moments are what I love most about being at sea.
