About the Founder of Real Life Gem

Real Life Gem is built on a deep connection with the sea and a passion for meaningful journeys.Every sailing experience is designed with care, attention to detail and a focus on creating moments that are personal and authentic.

The company was founded by Fotis Angelopoulos, a professional sailor born in Patras, Greece.Over his career, Fotis has sailed more than 25,000 nautical miles across the Ionian Sea, the Saronic Gulf, the Cyclades and beyond and has guided over 1,000 travelers on journeys. He has also extensive experience transporting yachts internationally from France, Italy, and Croatia to Greece.

This hands-on experience shapes the approach of Real Life Gem: every journey ensures safety, attention to every detail, and a focus on what makes each participant’s experience unique. Our small-group sailing experiences are crafted to foster connection, discovery, and quiet moments that stay with travelers long after the journey ends.

Do remember that space is tight onboard, it is pretty much like camping so pack light and prepared to get to know your group very well!
